Tickover woe's

Hi, im at a loose end with my Zaf GSi turbo... The tickover is lumpy as hell (after choke), tickover is at 500 rpm and just seems to keep dropping off and seems as though its missing!!!! Any ideas would be really helpfull. Its been like it for a while. Thanks
