There should be a switch on the side of the dash (passenger), at the end covered by the door when shut iirc. I know it can be done because we turned it off on ours when we had one.

is there anything in market that can legally turn off the front passenger airbags?so as to fit child seat in front.only ask as the wife does child minding and needs the space.we have only just bought the car and now found out that cant turn them off 
on the peugeot that we just got rid of ,it had a key switch.just wondered if the same could be done?
