cdr500 safe mode

My cdr500 is in safe and will not let me put in my code. Tried everything in book. ign on keep as on, switch on stereo while still pressing as on for at least 10sec but says 7safe, checked fuse 21 thats ok.
What am i doing wrong.
Please help
